The Sandtraps Restaurant is located at the Canmore Golf & Curling Club.

This is a lovely location. There is plenty of free parking. The food is tasty, large portions and a reasonable price.

It is not 100% gluten free, but they are celiac aware and have options. Note: they don't have a dedicated fryer so anything deep fired is off limits.

The Sandtraps Restaurant Is open Monday to Sunday from 8 am to 9 pm. They have a breakfast menu too.

Inside the restaurant. It wasn't too busy inside, as we were here around 6pm. But the patio was packed. They have a lovely patio with views of the golf course. Around 7 pm the inside started to get more people.

The air condition is full on, so I would recommend a sweater if staying inside, or sit more in the middle of the room. We were by a window and I think the air conditioning was coming from the floor vents by the windows.

They have large windows, so you can enjoy a great view.

Started with drinks.

Enjoyed a ginger ale. Bright, fizzy and cold. Hit the spot.

Roasted Golden Beet Salad with added Chicken Breast

I ordered the Roasted Golden Beet Salad with added chicken breast. It was very tasty. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Lovely and tender. I love beets, so I was in heaven. The dressing was delicious, not over powering and slightly tangy.

Others in the group, who are not celiac enjoyed pizza and pasta dishes (not gluten free), they were very happy with the portion sizes and flavours.

Our server was fantastic. She was aware of a celiacs restrictions, immediately informed me that they don't have a dedicated fryer when I let her know I needed gluten free options because I'm a celiac. She also noted on the food receipt to the kitchen that I was a celiac which was nice.

I only gave it a 3.5 out of 5 because they don't have a dedicated fryer. Because of this a celiac can't enjoy the fries. But, the service and food were good.

I'm looking forward to trying Sandtraps out again, maybe in the winter.
