Gluten-Free Choices at Lovely Ice Cream & Treats in Canmore Alberta

If you find yourself in Canmore, Alberta looking for a sweet gluten-free treat, then I recommend Lovely Ice Cream & Treats. Located in The Shops of Canmore on the corner of Benchlands Trail and Bow Valley Trail (Hwy 1A). Address: #101-300 Old Canmore Road. The front entrance is on the sidewalk.

I tried their Lemon Squeeze. Delicious!!! I love lemon, so I was in heaven. It is both dairy free and gluten-free. Everything is gluten-free in the store. The cookie was crunchy and tasty.

My son tried the Vanilla with caramel bits and chocolate. Of course, I got a taste and it was so creamy and chocolaty.

They make their own ice cream! It is so yummy. Everything is gluten-free. They have other desserts too! Gluten-free cookies, cakes,pies and other desserts. On their website they state that they try to have at least one dairy free and vegan ice cream available. Very friendly staff open to any questions.

I'm looking forward to trying their other flavours and desserts.

Update (July 2026)

Recently returned and enjoyed their Cream Puffs and Chewy Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich.

They were all delicious, but the Brownie Sandwich and the Vanilla Cream Puff (the one on the bottom right) were our favourites! I will definitely be buying the Brownie Sandwich again! The Cream Puffs flavours change now and then.

So delicious! ^-^

Update August 12, 2026

I just had to share! Lovely Ice Cream & Treats has the most scrumptious Gluten-Free Ice Cream Cake. I tried the Three layer Madagascar Vanilla Bean, Salted Caramel Deluxe and Triple Chocolate Ice Cream Cake. It was a hit! The ice cream is so creamy and delicious. Not overly sweet. The gluten-free biscuits on top gave a perfect texture and crunch. The cake is $45, so a bit pricey, but well worth it for a tasty, decadent, gluten-free birthday cake or treat. It can easily serve 8 people.

I don't have a photo as it was gone so fast! We have also tried their gluten-free cheesecake. The one we tried was Haskap Berry one. I think this was seasonal. It was in June 2026, I had it for my birthday. It was so very good. Lovely Ice Cream & Treats has a variety  of cheesecake flavours available on their website.
