The Harvest Cafe in Canmore Gluten-Free Options Review

Harvest Cafe Canmore

The Harvest Cafe in Canmore, Alberta is located on 10th street just off of Main Street. It is a lovely cozy cafe. They are gluten aware. I believe the owner has a gluten-intolerance and understands the needs of celiacs and those with gluten sensitivities. Open everyday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Harvest Cafe Gluten Free Statement

Harvest's Gluten-Free Statement on their Menu.

The Harvest Cafe is not 100% gluten-free. There is a chance of cross-contamination, because they are a small kitchen and do in-house baking with gluten flour. But, that being said, they have a gluten-free dedicated grill and take precautions such as changing gloves and using clean surfaces when preparing your food.

harvest cafe drinks

As always, we started with some drinks. In the pink cup is a small latte, and Oasis Orange Juice and a regular coffee. The regular coffee is at a drinks station, you get your cup when you pay and then go help yourself. This coffee option is unlimited refills! There is also a water station.

They use Mountain Blends Coffee which is a local coffee roasting company in Canmore. Very tasty, deep, mellow flavour.

gluten free chicken brie wrap Harvest Cafe

I had the gluten-free Chicken and Brie. It was so delicious! It may look a little burnt, but it didn't taste burnt at all. Great crunch to the wrap, and filled with gooey, tasty melted Brie, chunks of chicken, and apple, with just the right amount of spinach, cranberry and mayo. I will definitely order this again!

Non-celiac's in my group had the Grilled Cheese and Breakfast Panini with bacon. They said they loved their food and that it was very tasty.

Harvest Menus

Above are the food and drink menus for the Harvest Cafe. So many items I want to try in the future. For take-out they encourage you to bring your own cup, otherwise they charge a 25 cent few for disposable cups.

Here is the inside as you enter. You just grab a menu and find a seat, then order at the till. They will clean the tables after.

inside harvest cafe

Here is a view of the order area and inside the cafe. There are also some booths not shown by the window. They also have a nice outdoor area. Everything is clean. They have two washrooms for customers. I really enjoyed the laid back, comfy atmosphere.

If you find yourself in Canmore, Alberta I highly recommend checking the Harvest Cafe out. Here is a link to their website.

They are locally owned, pet friendly, environmentally aware place. They also support the local SPCA.

They do their best to accommodate a variety of dietary concerns. All of their our soups and sauces are made in house – always gluten free.

They make some gluten-free treats in-house. The Rice Krispie bar with a chocolate topping is made from gluten-free rice cereal.

Since they are not 100% gluten-free, those with celiac will have to determine their own comfort level. I'm a celiac and I would eat here again.

Note: These are my personal experiences and opinions. Always seek out a medical opinion for medical concerns. Not sponsored. If sponsored I will always say so at the top of the post.
